Jeans are it. In life. In pregnant life, they are in heavy rotation, so, do them right. People come in hourly asking how many jeans they need. There is no right or wrong answer to that question. We tend to start by asking how many pairs they have in their before-the-bump wardrobe. If they mention, as more than one mom has, that they have so many that they have a line on their insurance policy for jeans, then we suggest that they don't just get one pair unless they want to be totally miserable for 9 months, but, you knew that, huh? For most women two or three will do the trick. Feel like a lot? Think about it, if denim is an important part of your wardrobe, your body will change, but your desire to wear denim will not. Most women get at least 3 years wear out of their maternity jeans in the 9ish months that they wear them. And no, most women do not wear them for the first two or three months of pregnancy, but they do wear them for the first two or three months beyond the bump. Call it sad if you like, or just call it reality. As far as which jeans? It's personal. Our favorite combo is a pair of dark wash, a pair of "casual" ones and a pair of black. Paige does an amazing black pair that everyone adores. Feeling like now is the time to throw caution to the wind and embrace the times? Go for it! Grab a pair of the latest and greatest flairs-they make for a fabulous silhouette with a bump! Just aren't ready to go back to the flares? Then try on a pair of distressed black ones and be totally on trend. The women who go outside the "skinny jean" box always come back in and tell us how happy they are that they did that. Getting dressed should be fun. Put some fun in your rotation.
