We love the moms we meet, all of them. We are, daily, inspired by, well, all of them!
Like, say, Beth-who just left the store. She had a removable cast-like thing on her arm and hand, and shared that she had both her boot and her cast taken off in the past week! Yep, she pulled her Achilles playing tennis in her 2nd trimester, and then, while home with her 4 and 6 year old children one day, wearing the boot, fell down a flight of stairs and broke her wrist. Yikes! Apparently the best way to get to the front of the line in the ER is to say that you are 25 weeks pregnant. And, of course, given all of the things that could have happened falling down a flight of stairs, she was happy to have a broken wrist. She was very happy to be shopping for something with a full leg-not a cropped pant!
Or Tiffany. Who may think that we don't remember her, because her oldest kid is probably close to 10(?), but she'd be wrong, she inspired us then and she continues to do so now. Back then she was full of the most amazing energy, and she still is. She started the Webby Awards (pre kids), and is an independent filmmaker. We just caught this episode, titled Motherhood Remix, in her The Future Starts Here series. Check it out.
I particularly like the part where she says that all mothers work. Whenever someone comes to the shop and says "Oh, I don't work." I am quick to point out that moms who "don't work" are the hardest working people I know! I went back to "work" to get a day off. I love my kids more than life itself, but, for me, I am a better mom when I am not home all the time.
